The Russian Language Testing Center for Foreigners of the St.Petersburg State University (SPSU) is authorized to administer the state testing system in Russian as a foreign language. The Russian Language Testing Center for Foreigners is a member of the Russian Society of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature. The SPSU Testing Center is an official regional representative of the Leading Russian Language Testing Center for Non-Native Speakers of the Ministry for Compulsory and Professional Education of the Russian Federation. The SPSU Regional Testing Center provides five main testing levels aimed at evaluating language competence (in increasing order of difficulty).
- Elementary level
- Basic level
- Level one (TORFL-1)
- Level two (TORFL-2)
- Level three (TORFL-3)
- Level four (TORFL-4)
In addition to the above mentioned examinations the SPSU Regional Testing Center provides a wide range of Russian tests meeting the personal communication needs of candidates. For example, there is a test in Russian language for professional purposes, a test in Russian language for students entering schools of higher learning, a test in business Russian, etc. Examinations are held three times a year - in September, January and June. Applicants are registered at the SPSU Regional Testing Center. They should register 8 weeks before the examination (outside Russia) or 4 weeks before the examination (in Russia). Results are announced 6 weeks after the examination (outside Russia) or 4 weeks after the examination (in Russia). |
